There is nothing more graceful than a ballerina, which is why dancers are such wonderful painting subjects.
I love the monochromatic tones in this piece, as well as the layered effect of her beautiful costume and the texture of her hair. Depicting her from the back emphasizes the grace of her pose, and her mastery of the art form.
This is part of a three-piece series showcasing the performing arts, all in this color scheme. The neutral flavor goes well with any decor.
