Rogers, North Dakota was founded in 1897. From a 1920-50 population nearing 200, it has a current a population of 46 people. The Rogers Elevator and Mercantile, a familiar landmark on Highway 1, was replaced by other buildings in 2015. The painting is based on a photograph by Tim Porter. This is a commissioned piece.
I have been an artist since I was a little girl growing up in central North Dakota. My artistic pursuits of drawing, painting, writing, and singing have brought me great joy throughout my life. Hours fly by when you can lose yourself in doing something you love!
