I've always wanted to paint a scene that reminded me of harvest when I grew up. The straw bales made from the chaff of a freshly harvested wheat field next to a field of sunflowers that won't be ready until after the first hard frost brings back all those memories. The use of heavy texture acrylic paint with my palette knife lends itself perfectly to this scene. When I posted this to my social media accounts I got many wonderful comments about its Van Gogh-like quality, the texture and the colors. I hope you enjoy it too! The original is sold but prints are available.
